Tommy James and The Shondell’s took ‘ I Think We’re Alone Now’ to #4 back in 1967. Tiffany Darwish was born in Norwalk, California in 1971. Her first two singles- ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ and ‘Could’ve Been’ both went to #1 and so did her debut album. She had a handful of hits after that. In the Beatles vs Stones comparison- Debbie Gibson easily over Tiffany.
I had a big crush on Tiffany when this song came out when I was 13, so I’m Team Tiffany even though Debbie Gibson is undoubtedly the more talented musician.
My older sister loved Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. Their songs were of the same genre, I think.
