#77- ‘Things We Said Today’- One of seven songs from The Beatles third album A Hard Day’s Night to make the countdown. A Lennon- McCartney song which was written by Paul McCartney [on an album dominated by John Lennon written songs] The song was written while Paul was on holiday in the Virgin Islands with his girlfriend the actress Jane Asher. The song was most likely inspired by the McCartney-Asher relationship. Things We Said Today’- certainly shows Paul’s growth as a songwriter in comparison to some of his earlier efforts.
I really like this one too.
a great song and one of their two or three best from the first couple of years
One of my favorite Beatles songs!
