“Liar” was written by Russ Ballard of Argent- it was released as a single in 1970 but didn’t hit the charts- a cover by Three Dog Night released in 1971 did crack the Top 10. Three Dog Night had 4 Top 10 hits in 1971- including a #1 in the overplayed ‘Joy To The World.’
One of my favorites from these guys. Never saw them live because they didn’t come down south much. They had a kick-ass band behind them and that was a huge part of their success.
they were incredibly successful over a short period of time…then disappeared…
I always liked the more progressive and psychedelic elements on this track, giving it an edgier vibe than most of their other songs.
