“Draggin’ The Line’ was originally to be the b-side- but it was regarded as having hit potential and it became the a-side. The b-side- the original a-side ” Church Street Revival” peaked at #62. ‘Draggin’ The Line’ was Tommy James first hit after leaving The Shondells- and his biggest hit as a solo artist.
always liked this one, though I think for first ten years or so I heard it I didn’t know what the title was …what he was doing to the line. REM did a decent cover version as a b-side once.
My fave Tommy James piece.
