Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite’- Bee Gees & Peter Frampton. A John Lennon tune from Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. While there were a handful of fine covers on that album- most notably by Aerosmith and Earth, Wind and Fire- this one by Bee Gees, Peter Frampton and George Burns -isn’t one of them.
While I’ve never heard the album, I have to agree this cover isn’t exactly overwhelming. Given how great the Bee Gees were at harmonizing, that’s a bit disappointing. Perhaps, it wasn’t a good tune tune for them to cover in the first place!
It was an awful movie. Hey gang, ” lets cash in on the Beatles.” Great talents wasted for a studio to make a buck.
I didn’t really care much for the album or the movie.
George burns covering The Beatles. Not a recipe for great success!
Jesus, what a train wreck that project was.
