I respect the dues the guy paid and he is a very good blues harp player but I just could never connect to them. I had a young cousin at the time who loved them and he asked me how could I not? I told him because they are so obvious and lack any edge whatsoever…you said it best…Pedestrian. I didn’t hate them but just didn’t like them.
he was the perfect kind of artist for the radio and folks who kind of went along with whatever the radio plays. His music was harmless.
