This was Bryan Adams first #1 hit- he has had a total of 4. Adams born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1959-has had 27 Hot 100 singles and 22 Top 40 hits from 1982-2007. I’ve never been a fan-but I do like ‘Summer Of ’69’- proving even the mediocre came come up with a gem now and then– see ‘Crazy Horses’ by Osmonds as the most extreme example of that theory.

  1. I love this song, as well as “Run to You”, which prompted me to buy the album. Though I like “Summer of ’69”, I thought the lyrics were rather silly because Adams was only 10 years old that year.

  2. I really dug Bryan Adams in the ’80s and early ’90s. I still think his music until the “Into the Fire” album from 1987 is pretty good. Predecessor “Reckless” from 1994, which included “Heaven”, is the same album that had “Summer of 69,” as well as “Run to You” and “It’s Only Love,” all good pop rock tunes, in my view.
