Under The Covers: Other Artists Covering Beatles Songs: ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’- Phil Collins. The closing track on The Beatles finest album- Revolver. A John Lennon classic. Here it is covered by Phil Collins on his debut solo album Face Value in 1981. I could take or leave Collins for the most part- the only album of his I own is his debut album Face Value. After that it seems like he became a little too interested in having big hits. If a Phil Collins song came on the radio I wouldn’t turn it off- but I wasn’t all that take with it- but that debut album was excellent.

  1. Holy cow, I really used to listen to Phil Collins a lot in the ’80s and taped his debut album, but I did not remember his cover of “Tomorrow Never Knows” – not bad!

Perhaps in my defense, I’ve grown a bit tired of Collins who between Genesis, his solo work and duets with other artists was heavily overexposed in the ’80s. As such, haven’t listened to him in many years.

    • yes he was overexposed– and seemed to get into this silly mode- which made me not take him seriously.

  2. I had forgotten about this , strangely enough, until last week when we watched a tv show on the making of that album. Quite a good cover
