#150: ‘Good Night’- from The Beatles- The White Album. Time for another disclaimer- in ranking all these Beatles songs- I have long gotten past the point where I am ranking songs I don’t care for- there are only a handful of Beatles songs I could have lived without. It’s not easy to rank these songs- when you like most of them. ‘Good Night’ was a song written for Ringo- by John. There was no way John was going to risk his tough guy image by singing this song which he had written for his five year old son Julian. It was perfect tracking on The White Album- to follow ‘Revolution #9”s chaos with Ringo finishing up the album with’ Good Night.’

#149. ‘All I’ve Got To Do’- from The Beatles -With The Beatles: A Lennon-McCartney song from their second album that was written by John Lennon. This was John trying to write a Smokey Robinson song. Lennon would say it was a song written for the American market- that the idea of calling a girl on the phone in England in the early 1960’s was unthinkable.

  1. I think All I’ve Got To Do again could have been a single…I see covers of it a lot….Good Night took a while to grow on me but it did.
