2021 Movie Draft- Round 9 Pick 4- Strange Dylan selects- documentary- Cartel Land.
Cartel land is one of the best documentaries I have seen in my young film watching career. It is brutal, and true. I am surprised that the filmmaker did not get shot nor did he get killed while documenting this. I will not go into plot as I will likely spoil it. Yet, if you love the mini docs that Vice does, then this is certainly for you!
There is one problem with this film for me and it is that close to the end, it feels forumaltic. To not delve into spoilers I will use this overused quote to explain the problem “You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain” Harvey Dent (The Dark Knight).

Is Vice the one where the woman is interviewing gang members/cartel members and they have their faces covered?
I think so! Really gritty stuff
Interesting stuff…really. I’ve wondered just how much security she has.
