Deep Cuts From 1971: ‘Say You Don’t Mind’- Colin Blunstone. Colin Blunstone was the outstanding lead singer for The Zombies. The Zombies broke up at the end of the decade and Colin started his solo career- with the album One Year in 1971. The album was critically acclaimed and the single ‘Say You Don’t Mind’ made it to #15 in the UK Singles chart. ‘Say You Don’t Mind’ was written by former Moody Blue and future Wings member Denny Laine.
The sound is a bit on the lush side, but it’s a pretty tune. Plus, Colin’s vocals are great!
baroque pop…
Excellent melodist and marvellous pop singer, but almost forgotten.
Thanx for reminding me.
i would rank him among the most under appreciated singers of that era.
He has a beautiful voice with a lot of range.
I’ve never heard this song before, but it’s really lovely and melodic. And I agree that Colin had/has a beautiful voice.
