The first of ten Top 40 hits that Eurythmics had from 1983-89- was their biggest. I first remember seeing the video which on first sight seemed startling- but the song was also outstanding and different sounding for Top 40 radio at the time. I bought and liked the album- I hadn’t realized that a couple years earlier they had released an album- which had never charted anywhere. ‘Sweet Dreams’- one of a number of outstanding #1’s in 1983-84.

I loved the Eurythmics.
A strange act for sure, along with some strange music made for MTV success. Money For Nothing is still the gold standard for MTV era. I think Peter Gabrial may have put out a similar video around that time.
