This was Men At Work’s breakthrough single- their first two singles- this and “Down Under’ went to #1. Their first four singles made the Top 6- then they only had one more Top 40 hit. The pop-rock band from Melbourne, Australia was lead by Colin Hay- lead singer and guitarist. They only released three albums-last year I picked up the first two albums for $1 each- and enjoyed them. I had always liked their singles.
I liked them and bought this album.
quirky- I like!
I have their first album too.
I liked this band and wish they had kept on with more than two singles. Quirky music is only available in Australia using native instruments. ” Laying in a burned-out gumbe, slack jaw, not much to say.” Pure rock poetry.
Colin Hay is still out there as a solo artist- maybe they will get back together and tour when things open up again. I’d go see them… meanwhile I am going to go have a vegamite sandwich.
Men At Work had some really great tunes, including this one. I also always liked “Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive” and of course the tune that introduced the world to the vegemite sandwich!😀
