Air Supply-the duo of English singer-songwriter, guitarist Graham Russell and Aussie Russell Hitchcock were leaders in the early 80’s wimp rock craze that struck America. Music to cure insomnia. Air Supply had 8 Top 10 hits in America in the early 80’s with “The One That You Love’- being their only #1. Although I know they have defenders- to me all their hit singles sounded the same/ out of the same formula. I can’t say I hated them-because other than hearing their music once a week on American Top 40- I never payed any attention to them.
Yes, they are not worth paying attention to.
I see you were kind, Hans. I think that band’s name couldn’t have been more appropriate. Listening to their music these days makes me want to gasp for air!😆
No variety at all- it’s all elevator music. Not to offend elevators or elevator music.
😆
I like your term ‘wimp rock’ lol.
For some reason, around third grade this was my favorite song. I’ve moved on since then.
well it got played enough on the radio back then…must have sunk in for a while.
I call that genre “EBS Specials.” That’s where you have two stations, and one’s running its weekly EBS test, so you swich to the other, hear a song like this, and switch back to the test.
I like that- a pretty accurate description!
