Stevie Wonder’s cover of “We Can Work It Out’ has to rank high on the list of best covers of Beatles written songs. In 1971 Wonder would have 2 Top 40 hits but it was the calm before the storm- late in 1972 he would release ‘Superstition’ and the album Talking Book and would explode into one of the greatest if not the greatest artist of the 1970’s.
quite right… a great song he makes his own and one of the few where the cover is probably as good as the Beatles original.
i can’t argue with that–
I love this cover of the song. He does it just right!
he gives it the Stevie Wonder treatment.
Agree this is a great Beatles cover. I’m glad I included it in a December 2019 post about renditions of Beatles songs I also agree with you this appeared just before Stevie Wonder’s most fascinating period.
