Elton John’s third U.S hit- ‘Friends’ was the theme song from the movie Friends. “Friends’ was the follow up to his first Top 40 hit ‘Your Song.’ Elton was still one year away from his big breakout year of 1972 when he would have 3 Top 10 hits including his first #1 “Crocodile Rock.”
This is one of my most favorite of Elton’s songs. I can play it over and over.
I like it too- not an overplayed radio hit.
I sometimes think I’m the only person who had this soundtrack album. “Friends” is such a beautiful song.
I’ve always liked the song- and the fact you don’t hear it much on the radio- makes it even better. Have never seen the soundtrack..
“Seasons” is another gorgeous one from the album.
Believe it or not, this was one of the first 10 LPs I owned as a kid… I was a big Elton fan circa ’73-75 and saw this one in a store and bought it. I thought it was pretty good though I didn’t know even one song off it at the time!
