- THE ROLLING STONES: EP: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: IPOD: ROCK: On This EP- and the following two full length albums there are only a handful of Rolling Stones original compositions- the Jaggar-Richards team had yet to hit full swing with their writing- the majority of the material are R&B covers- and they were great at that. To be honest I would rather listen to The Rolling Stones covers than The Beatles covers in those early years. The bands covered different material. Maybe its because those R&B Stones covers haven’t been over exposed to my ears.

Okay, this is the second reference to The Rolling Stones I see today. There’s only so long I can resist.
I think I’m just about ready to get my ya-ya’s out! 🙂
LOL!
Currently listening to the album – so good!
As much as I dig Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor and Keith Richards are just killing it. The Stones rarely sounded as great!
I liked that sound they had back in the early days- I listen a lot to Little Steven’s Underground Garage on Sirius XM- and they play a lot of early Stones- it sounds so fresh- compared to the great but beaten to death songs from later on.
“Underground Garage” is a great show. Unfortunately, I only rarely listen to it!
One of my favorite stations -when I am not listening to The Beatles Channel.
