The summer of 1979- was the summer of Donna Summer- she had two #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 totaling 8 weeks- [later in the year her duet with Babs Streisand “No More Tears” would rack up 2 more weeks at #1.} The album that “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls” came off of- was the #1 hit album- a double album- Bad Girls. The inspiration for Summer to write this song was- one of her assistants who was offended when a police officer thought she was a street prostitute. The album Bad Girls was the second ‘disco’ album I ever bought- after Saturday Night Fever. I think I have four copies of it now- in the past couple years I’ve run across copies for $1 and can’t help myself.
