Paul Carrack - Suburban Voodoo 1982.jpg
  • PAUL CARRACK: SUBURBAN VOODOO: 1982: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: CD: POP; The BBC dubbed him ‘the man with the golden voice”- most may remember him as the singer on Ace’s hit ‘How Long” or as a member of Squeeze- singing their hit “Tempted.” This album is a pop masterpiece- produced by Nick Lowe. One of those albums full of songs which should have been hits- he did have a Top 40 hit off this album- “I Need You” #36. This album is a hidden gem.

  • DAVID BOWIE: DIAMOND DOGS: 1974: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: IPOD: Glam Rock: Making my way slowly through the Bowie catalog again. Bowie’s final glam album. Mount Rushmore- “Rebel Rebel”- “Diamond Dogs”, “Candidate” and “1984.”
Elvis Costello Spike.jpg
  • ELVIS COSTELLO: SPIKE: 1988: 4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: IPOD: ROCK: This -EC’s 12th album received mixed reviews but I’ve always had a fondness for it- maybe because I saw him a couple times on his tour for the album, maybe not- I just think it is a good collection of songs; Mount Rushmore: “God’s Comic”, “Veronica”-a rare Elvis hit single in the US, “Tramp The Dirt Down” and “Let Him Dangle.”
