- DAVID BOWIE: PIN-UPS: 1973: 3 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: ITUNES: GLAM ROCK: I don’t know why this was released when it was, usually you will see a covers album released to fill in a gap when an artist hasn’t had an album out for a while- and another one isn’t ready but Aladdin Sane came out in April 1973- what was the need for this just six months later? Diamond Dogs would come out in the spring of 1974. The album did go to #1 in the UK and “Sorrow” went to #3 there in the singles chart. A decent enough album but was it really necessary?
- TOM T. HALL: GREATEST HITS: 1972: 4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: CD: COUNTRY: Tom T. Hall- The Storyteller. These two albums came in a package of one- I prefer the individual albums to these greatest hits. Hall started out just as a songwriter and had no intentions of becoming a recording artists but he would become successful on the country charts in the 1970’s. His original brush with fame was back in the 1960’s writing “Harper Valley P.T.A.” which Jeanne C. Riley had a huge crossover hit with.
