“The Wicked Pickett”- Wilson Pickett was born in Prattville, Alabama in 1941- raised in Detroit. A soul singer-songwriter. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. He had 38 Hot 100 singles from 1963-1973 with 16 making the Top 40. His biggest hit was “Land Of 1000 Dances” #6 in 1966. His most well known single though may be “In The Midnight Hour” #21 in 1965. 1971 was a good year for Pickett on the charts with 3 Top 40 hits. Wilson Pickett died of a heart attack in 2006 at the age of 64.
