“Let Your Love Go” was the first single from Bread’s Manna album- it peaked at #28- the second single would do a lot better “If” #4. Bread was a soft-rock band formed in Los Angeles. Bread were masters of soft rock for good or ill. Their front man was David Gates who wrote and produced all the hits. Bread from 1970-77 had 13 Hot 100 hits- 12 made the Top 40. Of the 12 Top 40 hits 10 made the Top 20. It wasn’t until their last single “Hooked On You” in 1977 that a single of theirs failed to make the Top 40. Around that time the band disbanded and David Gates went on to a solo career. His biggest solo hit “Goodbye Girl” #15.
