The end. Back on January 1st I started writing about every Billboard Hot 100 Single for 1970- and now finally the final one. After doing every single the past couple years next year I think a change is needed. Anyway. Betty Everett was born in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1939 and passed away at the age of 61 in 2001. She was an R&B singer and pianist. From 1963-70 she had 10 Hot 100 singles with 3 making the Top 40. Her biggest hit was “Let It Be Me” a duet with Jerry Butler #5 in 1964.
It’s been a good run, and a trip down memory lane for me, as I was a teenager heavily into music in 1969-70.
