A novelty tune that quit being funny after maybe hearing it three times. A one-hit wonder for Dees a ‘radio personality.”
People actually went out and paid money to buy his record, this awful nonsense !
hard to believe isn’t it!
As if the Disco Duck#1 weren’t bad enough, I can’t believe anyone in their right mind wanted even more ahaha
Kinda makes you appreciate that KC & the Sunshine band hit from earlier in the year, doesn’t it? Kinda makes you appreciate the sound of two raccoons fighting outside your window at night, doesn’t it…
Anyone that has heard (almost) any Rap from say 2000 on can say the same.
It’s just the genre. Some people like it some people won’t.
I like the song Disco Duck and will (because of this post) see about getting a copy of Rick Dee’s album.
In a side note: I don’t like the movie Howard The Duck – even though I have a copy. We (the people) need to preserve all (good or bad) forms of history
Well, you’re entitled to your opinion… I actually quite like a fair bit of disco, but not that song. But if you do, that’s a-ok… I do agree with your point on rap too.
I love disco and just a little Rap, (Beastie Boys, Fat Boys) – most of it, though… no.
When people ask me about my music interests, I tell them “it’s complicated”. haha
Terrible song, but Rick Dees was hilarious on his morning show on L.A. radio station KIIS fm. Made my long commute to work more enjoyable back in the mid 1980s.
