  • The United Nations announced that its investigators concluded that Portuguese Navy and Army units had been responsible for the attempted invasion of Guinea in November despite Portugal’s assertions that it had not crossed over from its colony into the west African republic.
  • Former NFL Quarterback Jeff Blake was born on this day in Daytona Beach, Florida. Blake played for seven NFL teams from 1992-2005 -he had most of his success with the Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints. He made the Pro Bowl in 1995. Blake holds the record for the longest touchdown in Pro Bowl history- 92 years.
  • Actor Kevin Sussman best known as Stuart on The Big Bang Theory born in New York City on this day.
