Richard Starkey was born in Liverpool, England in 1940- of course he was the drummer for a little outfit named The Beatles. This was his first solo chart hit- he would go on to have 14 Hot 100 hits with 10 making the Top 40. In the early 70’s he had a streak of 7 Top 10 hits in a row. His two #1’s came in 1973 from his best album- Ringo- “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen.”
