Civil War 160: ‘Tuesday November 13, 1860- In the week since the election of Abraham Lincoln of Illinois as the 16th President of the United States- South Carolina has been the leader of dissent in the south. On this day the South Carolina legislature resolved to raise 10,000 volunteers in defense of the Palmetto State.
