Hans Remembers- Thursday November 12, 1970- 50 Years Ago.

  • Bhola Cyclone- hit landfall on the coast of East Pakistan- the deadliest cyclone in history- killed up to 500,000 people.
  • Controversial figure skater Tony Harding born in Portland, Oregon on this day- she will be forever remembered for the 1994 Winter Olympic controversy with Nancy Kerrigan.
  • The Oregon Highway Division attempts to destroy a rotting beached Sperm whale with explosives- this became known as the Exploding Whale incident.
