In the mid-90’s my friend Wolfgang- who is a fan of K.C. And The Sunshine Band had a discussion on them- and he said that one day they would make the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We made a bet. I said there was no way. I can’t recall what we bet- and I don’t know how I will ever collect on that bet since we didn’t put a time limit on it. It’s been twenty-five years since we bet- if I remembered what we bet I think it would be time to collect. K.C. And The Sunshine Band- were even worse than The Osmonds at least The Osmonds gave us “Crazy Horses.” As a lyricist Harry Wayne Casey never had Bob Dylan losing any sleep over being passed up on the great songwriter list. My three year old nephew could probably write better lyrics than Casey. The emergence of K.C. And The Sunshine Band in the mid 70’s a low point in the decade.
I loved disco, and back in the summer of 1975, this song was my biggest guilty pleasure.
I knew you were going to give this an F. LOL! I still love their music even if it is cheesy. It’s great to dance to.
I was a “Disco Boy” in San Francisco in 1975. This was one of the brightest “anthems” of the City that year. The song brings me great joy.
