When I first started writing “Bayou Fire,” I knew that my Cajun male protagonist had to be named Amos … because of this song.
Not too shockingly, it’s a long-time favorite of mine.
a fun song for sure.
This song would work out real well for my upcoming Song Lyric Sunday prompt om December 6, 2020 which will be Alligator/Crocodile/Lizard/Snake/Turtle.
I love Jerry Reed and I love this song. I loved him in the Smokey and the Bandit movie(s) also. Can’t remember if he did only one or not. His energy is so good. Seems like he was a decent human being. I remember watching him and Chet Atkins playing together not all that long ago.
Amos Moses is such a fun song to sing along with.
I was surprised to see it lasted nearly half the year in the Hot 100.
It’s the story! “When Amos Moses was a boy…” C’mon!
Damn fine song. I loved Jerry Reed. He was hysterical.
