Sun Sounds: “Breathless”- Jerry Lee Lewis. The Killer’s third big hit after “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Going On” and “Great Balls Of Fire”- was “Breathless” in early 1958. It would go to #7 in the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 in the county singles chart. The songwriter of “Breathless” is Otis Blackwell- who also wrote “All Shook Up” and “Don’t Be Cruel” for Elvis–and Jerry Lee’s earlier smash “Great Balls Of Fire.”
