Hans Remembers- Thursday October 29, 1970- 50 Years Ago.
- One of the great soccer goalies- Edwin van der Sar of The Netherlands was born on this dy in Voorhout. The 6’6″ goalie played from 1990-2011 with Ajax, Juventius, Fulham and Manchester United- and of course with the Netherlands National team.
- President Richard Milhous Nixon faced an angry mob of over 5000 demonstrators in San Jose, California- it was said to be the worst Nixon had faced since becoming president. He was booed as he walked to his car- and a thrown rock came close to hitting him. After he got back in his car the crowd pelted the limousine and a motorcade with rocks, eggs and bottles. Riot police were necessary to clear the path for the cars to leave. Nixon must have been having Venezuela flashbacks.
I wish protesters would throw rocks, bottles and feces at Trump, except he’d probably have them killed.
