From 1968-72 Kenny Rogers and The First Edition had 10 Hot 100 singles and 7 Top 40 pop hits. Their biggest hit was “Just Dropped in {To See What Condition My Condition Was In} #5 in 1968. Rogers would leave the band in 1973 for a solo career- let his beard go grey and become a very popular country- pop act. I was not a fan- but he did have his moments I must admit.
This version is not the Gambler that is for sure… I like a few things he did with the First Edition…he always seemed uncomfortable to me during this time.
