1974 was a big year for former Beatles- earlier in the year Ringo, Paul McCartney and Wings had #1 hits- now one of the 5th Beatles Billy Preston goes to the top- and later on in 1974 John Lennon would finally have his first #1. This was the second #1 for Preston who in 1973 went to the top with “Will It Go Round In Circles.” “Nothing From Nothing ” made history when Preston performed it- as the first musical performance ever on the show.
