Olivia Newton-John’s first #1 hit in the US and in Canada. At the Grammy’s in 1975 “I Honestly Love You” won for Record Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female and the song was nominated for Song of the Year- losing out to “The Way We Were.” Not a bad song but that just goes to show how out of touch the Grammy Awards were at the time.
A good singer for sure, but not a country singer. She paved the way for Aussies, and now we have Keith the Urban cowboy.
Hadn’t thought of this song in ages. She really was/is an amazing talent.
I can still remember thinking that the song was out of place on R&R radio. The Grammy wins!? A weird fluke or somebody greased somebodies palm. I really like ONJ’s voice but not pop!
A very good song & talent. Maybe not Record of the Year good, but good and I daresay better than pretty much anything Barbra S did.
Love this song.
