  • Genre: Pop
  • Written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis
  • Time: 2:56
  • B-side:”Heather”
  • Album-A Song For You
  • Grade:A
  • Peaked at #1 in Billboard Hot 100 for 2 weeks. #5 in UK Singles chart. #1 in Australia and Canada.

“Top Of The World” was originally only going to be an album cut but after country singer Lynn Anderson took her version of the song to #2 on the country music singles chart- they reconsidered and released it as a single- and presto- #1 hit. Worth noting as I have so often this past year- on drums again- for another of the #1 hits he contributed to- Hal Blaine.
