“Top Of The World” was originally only going to be an album cut but after country singer Lynn Anderson took her version of the song to #2 on the country music singles chart- they reconsidered and released it as a single- and presto- #1 hit. Worth noting as I have so often this past year- on drums again- for another of the #1 hits he contributed to- Hal Blaine.
The Carpenters have some nice music.
