Jim Henson had two Hot 100 singles as Sesame Street characters- this one as Ernie and in 1979- with Kermit- “Rainbow Connection.” Henson was born in Greenville, Mississippi in 1936- and died in 1990 at the age of 53. He was the creator of The Muppets.
Never knew this was a single let alone a hit! Yet another entry on the “hits of the ’70s that were better than Chuck Berry’s ‘ding-a-ling'”, LOL
My dad is Ernie. For years at work, his best friend was Bert. You can’t even make things like this up.

Can I say that I love that song?? Well, I do and I used to sing it to my kids when they were little.
My kids loved this too. We used to sing it when they were in the bathtub and it was great.
