• U.S President Richard Milhous Nixon and Mexico’s President Gustavo Diaz Ordaz met in a hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for three hours and agreed in terms for the Boundary Treaty of 1970. The center of the Rio Grande River would be recognized as the boundary even if the river changed its course.
