Born Stanley Robert Vinton in Canonsburg, Pa in 1935- pop singer Bobby Vinton had 44 Hot 100 Singles from 1962-80 and put 30 of those into the Top 40. I have to give it to him- many singers with more talent struggled after The Beatles and The British Invasion in 1964- but Vinton continued to have success well into the 1970’s. In his career he had 4 #1 hits- 1962- “Roses Are Red”, two in 1963 “Blue Velvet” and “There! I Said It Again” and 1964- “Mr. Lonely.”
My mom had his records. I like the trembling he used in his voice. Gave some feeling to the songs.
I may have told this story before but my mom grew up a good hour away from Bobby Vinton and a friend of her’s dated him. Said he was conceded- always looking in the mirror- combing his hair lol
Yes, I do remember you saying something about it. LOL funny that he did that. I notice you said dating not married 🙂
I am sure he dated many back in his younger days- i do think he’s been married to the same woman -forever…. Perry Como also from Canonsburg, PA- but a generation older.
