American Top 40- The 80’s- Week of July 23, 1988. As the 80’s ended I have been reminded the more unfamiliar I am with a lot of the Top 40- Pop music of the time. A lot of these singles I have no memory of. At the time I was certainly listening to a lot of music but the radio wasn’t on very much.

  1. Fast Car is one that I truly liked at the time.
    The Contours? It must have been the Dirty Dancing movie.

  2. I know about half of these tunes, based on titles. I imagine I’d recognize some more if I listened. Some good ones here.

    I agree with Max “Fast Car” is a great tune. Tracy’s Chapman’s entire debut album is outstanding. I still dig the Steve Winwood and Guns n’ Roses tunes as well.
