  • Album- Sky’s The Limit
  • Grade: A+
  • Peaked at #1 2 weeks in Billboard Hot 100. #8 in UK Singles Chart.

The third #1 hit for The Temptations. The first time I recall hearing this song wasn’t this version but the later cover by The Rolling Stones on their Some Girls album. This was more of a throwback to the earlier sound from the 1960’s for The Temptations- instead of the psychedelic soul sound they had going for them in the early 1970’s. “Just My Imagination” would be the final single featuring Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams. Kendricks would leave for a solo career, Williams due to health reasons. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the single at #389 on their 500 Greatest Songs Ever list.

  1. I always had a soft spot for the Stones version also. That is how I think I found the Temptations is through that version.
