Ranking The Billboard #1 Hits- 1969.
1969 was an outstanding year for music but the singles which reached #1 in 1969- overall not the strongest year- I’d take the #1 hits from 1964-68 years over 1969- but there were a handful of classics among the 16 #1 hits from 1969. Note- an oddity while those other years were better with #1-‘s there are no #1’s from 1969 that I really dislike at all.
- 16. “Love Theme From Romeo and Juliet”- Henry Mancini
- 15. “Sugar, Sugar”- The Archies
- 14. “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye”- Steam
- 13.”Wedding Bell Blues”- The 5th Dimension
- 12. “Leaving On A Jet Plane”- Peter, Paul and Mary
- 11. “Dizzy”-Tommy Roe
- 10. “Crimson and Clover”- Tommy James and The Shondells
- 9. “In The Year 2525”- Zager and Evans
- 8-“Someday We’ll Be Together”- Diana Ross & The Supremes
- 7. ” Aquarius/ Let The Sunshine In”- The 5th Dimension
- 6. ” I Can’t Get Next To You”- The Temptations

Good list. I’d move some things around but, good list.
Past years were easier to rank- again nothing on this list that I dislike.. and very few I am crazy about..
