  1. This is a very good top 40…great top 10. Rod Stewart’s I Was Only Joking is my favorite later seventies song by him.

  2. Wow. Another list where I was definitely listening to the radio a lot. I recognize everything except the last one. Summer before 7th grade…

    You can see the tail end of Saturday Night Fever songs. I miss ARS on the radio.

  3. So much great music during that period, especially Baker Street, Miss You, Every KInda People and Because the Night. I was on vacation in Germany and Netherlands during that period, and remembering hearing several of those songs played there. I basically agree with all your grades, though I would give Carly Simon’s You Belong to Me an ‘A’.

    • Every Kinda People- was the first hit for Robert Palmer- and I think his best. I liked it when it came out and like it even more today. Even the bad stuff from that week wasn’t really bad.

    • That was the first Genesis hit in the US- which is hard to believe- that they didn’t have a hit in the Peter Gabriel years.
