Shoeless Joe Jackson was one of the greatest hitters who ever lived. His career ended at the end of the 1920 season when he was thrown out of baseball at the age of 32- due to the Black Sox scandal. His career batting average was .356. Only two players have a career batting average that is higher- Ty Cobb at .366 and Rogers Hornsby at .358. No doubt if he hadn’t been involved in the scandal he’d be in Baseball’s Hall of Fame. One of his 1910 cards was recently sold for an incredible $492,000. Imagine that much money for a piece of cardboard. The story of that card below.

It’s insane how much money some people will spend on stuff. Boggles my mind.
For a baseball card. Too much money- no common sense.

A very interesting piece of history
Holy smokes. What a find for the family that sold it.
