The following is- Eclectic Music Lover’s Top 30 songs for the week of April 19-25. I told him that I was going to listen to each one on his list- and give them my grade. I am not very good with music from the past decade or so. I haven’t kept up on things. I had heard a few of these songs before and was familiar with some of the artists but the majority of them are unknowns. I went through the list and listened to each song- and assigned a grade. I am sure If I had these 30 songs on a continuous play all day the grades might change. Overall I liked the songs- didn’t dislike any of them. The lowest grade I gave is a C. There is no “Seasons In The Sun” to be found. From this point on to keep up with current music I am going to check Eclectic Music Lovers weekly countdown and listen to each new song he adds.

Thanks for doing this Hans! Obviously, I really like all the songs on this list, and am happy you like quite a few and found none of them too objectionable. I’m a little surprised you gave Pearl Jam’s song a ‘C’ though, as well as the haunting “Run” by Joji, an immensely popular star I’d not previously heard of.
Not much of a Pearl Jam fan.. a number of the artists I had never heard of… I will next go through the list you suggested on songs from 2010 decade.
I’ve never been what you would call a fan of Pearl Jam, though I do appreciate their appeal, and like several of their songs.
Also, it’s interesting what songs resonate with each of us, and which ones don’t. The drummer of The Million Reasons, whose song you graded a C, doesn’t care at all for The Black Keys, who song you gave an A+.
I am a Black Keys fan- last concert I went to last fall was to see them… I see from your list yesterday I have a few more songs to catch up on!
