Another Marvin Gaye/ Tammi Terrell duet single- Marvin’s best duet partner was Tammi Terrell who died just prior to the release of this single on March 16, 1970 from a brain tumor. Marvin Gaye was in a little slump as far as the single charts went in 1970- he had 5 singles reach the Hot 100 but only one would make the Top 40. He would correct that in 1971 with his landmark What’s Going On album which gave him 3 Top 10 singles.
Not one of their better songs.
Agree- i think its all about the material.. rather forgettable song.
Remember that song well… so sad about Tammi…
