Steppenwolf was a Canadian-American rock band who sold 25 million records. Their hey day was 1968-72. They had 13 Hot 100 singles and 7 made the Top 40. Their biggest hits came right off the bat with “Born To Be Wild” #2 in 1968 and “Magic Carpet Ride” #3 also in 1968.
I’ve always loved Steppenwolf’s sound. Great tune.
I only ever really knew ‘Born to Be Wild’.
Nice to read about a Steppenwolf tune other than “Born to be Wild” or “Magic Carpet Ride” – don’t get me wrong, I dig both of these tunes, but sometimes it appears the band only had these two tracks. This one is a good example there was more to the picture.
yep those are the only two that the radio seems to know.
