- A little over seven months after the Woodstock concert- the documentary of the concert is premiere in Hollywood. The original documentary ran 3 hours and 5 minutes. It was produced by Michael Wadleigh. The budget was $600,000 and the film made $50 million at the box office.

- North Vietnam refused an offer by South Vietnam for the release and repatriotation of 343 wounded or ill prisoners of war declaring that there were no members of the North Vietnamese Army in the south. The Hanoi representatives at the Paris Peace Talks asserted that the captives were instead “Illegally arrested patriots” from among South Vietnamese citizens rebelling against the Saigon government.

- American film actress Patricia Ellis a leading lady in the late 30’s-died of cancer at the age of 51 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her movie career ran from 1932-1939.
