The Godfather of Soul- James Brown was born in Bramwell, South Carolina but grew up in Augusta, Georgia. This was the 2nd of 5 Hot 100 singles Brown had in 1970-it was the only one that year that didn’t make the Top 40. Brown in inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in its inaugural year 1986. James Brown died at the age of 73 in 2006.
While this may not be his best song, it’s pretty groovy. Most of all, James Brown was an amazing live performer – boy, would I have loved to him!
